This is a first for me: a dramatic, immersive horror reading of one of
my favorite short stories, including music and sound effects. This story
was originally published in 1926, but due to its vague descriptions and
use of the technology of telegraph wires as a medium to tell its tale, I
think it holds up extremely well even almost 100 years later.
I listen to a lot of recorded horror stories in various levels of
production quality, and I've always wanted to go the full distance with a
very detailed one myself. This year's Halloween season was the perfect
time to get one together. I also eventually hope to write and narrate my
own stories, and this (and my Atmospheric Horror Music albums) has been
preparation for that step.
Thanks to my friend Trevor Henderson for providing the excellent moody album art that ties this all together!
cw: violence, unexplained sudden death.
No audio jump scares, just layers of mood and unease.
